I've been reading a lot over the past six months on how to tune and it seems to get harder and harder to absorb all the info the deeper I get involved. Thats a good thing I guess. I enjoy it!
I originally started to tune with the stock NBO2 using WinALDL and burning my own chips and after reading that a WBO2 would be much better to tune I forked out the cash for the ZT-2. It's hooked up now and I can see that my AFR is bouncing up and down. I have my MAP hooked up to the "user 1" input and I'm sure you guys know it displays the voltage. I'm not sure what to do now. Should I be using some other software to datalog other than the one that is supplied with the ZT-2? How do I convert the MAP voltage to Kpa?
Am I to be running two programs at once when I datalog? I've been doing a lot of keyword searches here and I just cant seem to find what I need to get me going. I really don't want to buy anything else to tune my car like EBL. I just want to work with what I have now. Can some tell me step by step on how to datalog with a WBO2 and how to change my VE tables using AFR, MAP voltage and RPM? Sorry for the many questions, I'm just hoping people can help me out or lead me in the right direction, Thx.

change from sensor volts to %TPS(0-4.5v) and same for MAP sensor(0-5v) volts to 0-100 MAP. also if you want A/F to read correctly i believe you need to change that if you run ethanol blend(14.13 vs 14.7) as i think stoich needs to be stated as 14.13 or so. the RPMs will need to setup as well to read correctly based upon number of cylinders if you are getting signal from coil.
I use an Innovate unit. Innovate also has a forum to get help. Maybe Zetronix does as well.
Before I got the EBL, i used the zt software to datalog. I had hooked up the MAP sensor, the RPM's and the TPS. I seem to remember the MAP was hooked to the user input and the software would let you scale it 0-100. i believe that was under preferences or something like that.
my stock computer only output on the ALDL about once per second, so that was mostly useless. The zt-2 samples at around 70 per second, so you can get alot of info pretty quick.

I still feel as if I missing something. Right now I have an 8746 ecm with the $61 mask using ANLU bin for the chip. Now that I have the ZT-2 would I still datalog with WinALDL to see my BLM value's or just use the supplied software that came with the WBO2? I really don't understand how I am supposed to take the AFR at any given RPM and MAP reading and translate it into my VE tables? Should I be using two laptops at the same time? One running WinALDL and the other running the Zeitronix software and then compare them both to come up with a guess on what to put into my VE tables? I find it confusing that the MAP reading is a voltage reading in the ZT-2 software. Sorry to sound like I need to be spoon fed with this stuff but I'm not sure what else to do right now! It seems as though I know no one in my area that has the same interests in cars like I do (or ecm programming anyway!). Any info would be much appreciated. Thx!
winALDL is reading the closed loop BLM. That is feedback from your NB02 sensor. The data seen in winALDL will suggest you should adjust the VE fueling tables to get any cells that deviate significantly from 128(+-3). The WB when in CL should confirm stoich (1.00 lambda +or-). The WB can be set up to replace the NB02 sensor. Check the Innovate site on that. I have not yet tried that. winALDL and NB02 sensor will be of little help in tuning cold start, A/F in OL, accell enrichment, and WOT or PE. To get that data a WB is required. I was however successful in getting PE close without WB in that my underlying VE provided 11.90/1 PE commanded to 12.0. I set up to 12.0 PE to be safe on dyno with their WB.

I do have my WB hooked up in place of the NB. If my WB tells me I have an AFR of 13.20 at 1.90 MAPv and 800 RPM, How would I input that into my VE#1 table. That is the issue I'm having. What formulas do I need to know? If anybody could help me out in this area I would be in your debt!

If you are in CL the learning occurring should put you at 14.x/1? if you are idleing in OL that V would be about 38 map and I would expect 13.2/1 to be a bit too rich.
confirm you are in OL at idle and the check the A/F value in OL idle vs coolant or whatwever it is called in your tables. i doubt it is that rich. now i am the opposite i am idleing OL and WB shows 16's but that is cam overlap? I think.

I am so I am not in tune with your tuning procedures but i would surmise the theory is similar. NB02 corrects fueling with BLM changes. the datalogger shows BLM data and if it is lean(140 BLM) the ECU brings you to 14.x, same on rich. you correct fueling to help the ECU do its job better. i never have used the WB to correct CL fueling. but EBL allows that. if i was running OL i could use the WB to correct fueling by doing the math. but not at idle for me as it runs off a table of A/F. just off idle i would where i would be normally CL. i did run OL once all the time but gas mileage was poor as i was overly rich.
