cant read my base chip! please help

I just got my stuff from moates today and loaded it all into my laptop.
I cant seem to get the Burn 1 to read my current chip. I tried using all the supported chips listed and only 2 of them read , but when I looked at the file (bin) they were only 1 byte in size, and when I looked at it in the tunerpro hex editor all it had were about a dozen 0's and an 84.
The numbers on my chip are:
014
045915
B0141AB
Im starting to think this chip isnt supported (its for a 730 ECM). What do I do now?

That chip you have is known as a 27c256. It is supported by the Burn1 for reading but not to burn to. Im not familiar with the Burn1, i have one of Craigs AutoProms. Make sure the chip is oriented the right way and the preferences are setup in the software.

Re: cant read my base chip! please help

Ok, I selected that chip, hit read chip, the progress bar scrolled across pretty quick , hit "save buffer to file" , went to tuner pro and opened it, it was only 1 BYTE!!
I looked at the prefrences and Im not what would need to be changed. Dosent it seem like the problem is in the way the brun1 is reading it?
I put in a new chip an did a "blank check" that went as it should.
