Can find it here:

http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/index.html

First hit in google using "+AUJL +ECM" for search criteria.

Hi RBob,

Your web site is so helpful, thanks.
I guess i need AUJP as i have a automatic.
May be you can help me with a good base, i could give you the engine specs?
What do you recommend for the tuning hardward and software now as it is 2008?
What do you think of the NVSRAM?

Thanks,
Dave

Re: Looking 4 A 350 L98 bin like the AUJL

Your welcome.

AUJL and AUJP are for different ECMs. They are not interchaneable. Both are for the L98 with an automatic. AUJL is for an '89 '165 ECM with MAF. AUJP is for '90 - '92 '7730 ECM with MAP (SD).

Sorry, I don't set up base BINs (border line bin begging on this forum).

For tuning equipment it depends upon what you are looking for. NVSRAM, Ostrich, and Prominator are three choices for eliminating the chip. If chips are OK then the Burn1, a G1, and some flash chips work.

The NVSRAM is a nifty setup. Not sure exactly which BIN is available for it. Although I do believe it is AUJP.

Hey Rbob,

I guess that you cant get those 16151348 for $39.00 any more?
Do you think those Memcals could be found at a wrecking yard?
I am running a 7730 computer set up.
I guess i also have to change my knock sensor from the 305 CID to a 350 CID?Do you have to know the tech reasons why?

Thanks,
Dave

That is my understanding. Being phased out and for some reason the price went through the ceiling.

Don't see why not. The only time there isn't a MEMCAL is one someone else beats you to the ECM and takes just that piece.

In this case you want AUJP.

I don't see why you would have to know why it needs to be changed. I tend to not change things unless I've found that a change is required.

Re: Looking 4 A 350 L98 bin like the AUJL

The knock sensor is tuned to the bore diameter of the engine.
So a 307 LB9 will need one for its 3.72" bore, and the 350 will need one for its 4.00" bore.
This is due to the fact the cylinder bore diameter majorly determins the knock frequency (some contribution to stroke, but since knock occurs at approximately TDC, this is very small contributor to the resonance volume).

Other factors are the temperature of the charge, the mass/mixture of the burned gas, and cylinder structure, including piston mass.

So if you have an LB9, keep the present sensor. If its a 350 or 383, then you want the 350 Knock sensor......
