OK so I'm using tunerpro rt and aujp v.4 (which is freaking awesome btw) on a 730 ecm and I am also using an autometer cobalt wideband afr. My problem is that if I connect the output wire from my gauge to the ecm, my log in tunerpro does not read the same as the gauge itself. After doing some research, it turns out that the gauge itself does infact accept the 0-5 volt signal from the wbo2, however, it then spits it back out as a 0-4 volt signal for a datalogger (or in this case the ecm and tunerpro). I believe this is the reason behind the discrepancy because the new voltage range is different than what the ecm/tunerpro should be reading.
To remedy this, I opted to skip the output wire altogether and splice in to the 0-5 volt signal wire from the wbo2 going to the gauge and piggyback it into the ecm. This also did not work. With the ecm hooked up this way, my gauge would only read 14.5 afr and not change, and the ecm would read
10.xx afr. Disconnected and the gauge worked fine.
I do not know what to do about this. I have tried searched and have come up with nothing. Anyone run into this problem? Any Ideas?
others would know a lot better than me but if you do a search for the thread about making the super aujp. i believe they talked about making look up tables for different widebands. or it could be a thread about wideband control. i'm not 100% because i search for so many different things.
i would have no clue how to do this. but i think it can be done.
Use the designated output from your gauge into the ECM with the wb output goint to the gauge.
You can use the "Raw" setting in the bin that outputs the "counts" (0-255) for a 0-5 Volt input signal.
Setup your datalogging file (ads) to use the 0-4 volt scale = WB range.
5/255=0.01961 Volts per count
255 steps / 5 Volts = 51 counts or steps per volt
51 counts * 4 volts = 204 counts
Min WB reading = 0 counts, Max WB reading = 204 counts
as long as the WB has a linear output, Should work fine.
If you happened to have a WB that is not linear output, you could just create a lookup table with all 204 (or 255) points with the values desired.
Lot of typing but it would work to indicate along a curve better than a straight line interpolation.
