Knock retard vs coolant temp enable available in Tunercat $8D

Since I'm a hexidecimal retard (couldn't for the life of me figure out that cold spark disable in the hex), I asked TC to upgrade the $8D definition file to add that feature and he did! Awesome customer service as usual!!

Anyway, I put in 0°C (it never gets that cold where I'm at) and viola, full spark advance at cold start up. Woo Hoo!

Re: Knock retard vs coolant temp enable available in Tunercat $8D

JP, it's that whole cold spark disable for the 7730 thing, where the ECM only looks at the 100 kpa spark values until the engine reaches 40°C (the factory value). By "disabling" this through lowering the temp to zero, the ECM reads the spark table normally even at first startup.

THis is the thing I was asking you about ealier in another thread and for the life of me couldn't get to the hex address you were telling me about. Either the hex editor in my Pocket Programmer doesn't work right or something...

OK,
I thought it was something different you found.
Surprised they didn't have that one in there already.
You did have the right address shown on the programming screen BTW.

Link back for people just catching up.
