How do you copy the stock bin from your stock chip to begin tweaking? I have all the equipment from moates, I just don't know where to start to do this part of it??

A list of the specific equipment you have would really help.
With your BURN1/2 place the HDR1 into the ZIF socket and then place the MEMCAL onto the HDR1. Alternativly you can insert the HDR1 into the MEMCAL first, and then onto the BURN1/2.
Open the Flash n Burn program, enter the proper settings. Read the chip and then save.

Me and a friend installed the G2 memory adapter into the daughter board and then just plugged the stock chip back into the adapter. So, do I remove the stock chip again, insert it into the Burn1 device and then what? I am so lost. Thanks for dropping in to help.
Yes, remove the stock EPROM from the ECM, and insert it into the BURN1, set it to 2732, or 2732a, which ever option is available, and read the EPROM, save it and you have your stock bin.
With the stock chip in the BURN1 and the 2732a option selected, it won't let me click ANY of the boxes down below, not read or anything..... Any ideas??
In the ZIF on the BURN1, how does the stock EPROM plug in? Which end of the EPROM goes on the top of the BURN1, and where does the EPROM sit in the ZIF on the BURN1, because there are empty slots whenver you position it.... Still can't get the BURN1 to recognize the EPROM to copy the stock chip...
The EPROM is placed in the position farthest away from the handle of the ZIF socket, with the notch pointing towards the handle.
Here is a picture that shows the position of a stock MEMCAL from a 7730 using an HDR1 adaptor. Yours will have 2 more slots open per side closest to the ZIF socket handle.
I have placed the EPROM in the BURN1 as you and the picture describe. Still no luck. Should I be reading the chip with the Moates PROM Read/Write Utility in the TunerProRt program? When tryin to read the bin this way, I can select read from several supported chips OTHER than the 2732A, but I'll try to save the bin and load it to view in TunerProRT with no apparent success. It does say PROM I/O succeeded whenever I select some of these others.. When selecting read on the 2732A chip in this utility, the utility says: "ERROR: Memory range and/or address outside selectedd EPROM size."
Alternatively, should I be trying to read the stock chip with the Moates Flash & Burn.exe program?? Whenever the 2732A chip is selected in this app, the box below says: "Supported hardware not found! Attach supported hardware and re-open application!" I have tried everything it seems and I can't even get the damn stock bin copied......
I'm plugging the stock chip directly into the ZIF on the BURN1 w/o this other stuff... Would this matter?
Sorry man, I'm about at the end of my knowledge of the BURN1, I don't actually own one, just know about the functionality.
I use a couple Willems programmers that I have (Dual Power and GQ-3X).
I find it odd that the flash and burn utility is not allowing you to read the 2732.
Maybe try re-installing the utility and also try downloading and installing the version on moates.net. They should be the same, but you never know.
Also a final question and should have asked this earlier, you do have the proper FTDI drivers installed, and the BURN1 is being recognized by the F 'n B utility and the TP RT utility?
Try rebooting and then firing up Flash and Burn, and make sure it sees burn1. Sometimes, if you run another program, it can hang up the com port and make it inaccessible to other programs even after you close the program...
Then choose the 2732 option and see if the buttons are alive.
To tell the truth, I have never used burn one to read 2732 though since it doesn't write them, I normally whip out my pocket programmer 2....
If it still wont work, get on diy-efi.org and go to the bin sextion and find your stock binary there.

In regards to finding the stock binary on either the diy-efi forum or on the Moates website, how do I know which binary is EXACTLY the one I need? I haven't checked the diy-efi yet, but I know that on Moates website there are what appear to be two options for me since I have the 747 ecm. One is 747acsc.bin. And the other one is 747arht.bin. Both of these are under the stock binaries folder on the Moates website www.moates.net/files/. Are either of these the right ones for my application?
Also, where on diy-efi does one find the necessary bins? I can't seem to navigate that webiste very well.....
You should have a BCC (BroadCast Code) on the label on your stock EPROM. This is the 4 letter code. I have some other binaries that I want to upload to Moates, but I haven't been able to. If I have the bin that matches your BCC then I can send it to you.
I have switched laptops, the one I'm using for tuning now is equipped with Windows XP. I have successfully read the chip: "PROM I/O succeeded" and I am able to "Verify chip with buffer". After hitting Verify chip with bufffer it says: "SUCCESS: Verification succeeded." But how do I copy the stock bin to the computer and load it into Tunerpro?? I hit save buffer to file, then save as 'stock.bin' and try to load that bin with no luck it seems.
It says no XDF selected at the top of the TunerProRT program bar. Is this part of my problem and how do I correct it?
Under the Tools, ALDL/Data Logging, Setup menu, I have selected this definition file (though I'm not sure it's correct) : ...\TuunerPro RT\DataStreams\1227747_42.ads. It is listed as 160 baud packet description.. Is this the correct setting here?
The BCC seems to be either ASDU or 9567. I made the mistake of marking on the stock EPROM when I first pulled it out so I knew which way it went back in. But it looks as if the label has ASDU written twice....
Without having an XDF selected you might actually have the bin file loaded to TP RT, but you won't be able to see any parameters.
You need to select the proper XDF.
IIRC there are two on moates' file share. I prefer 7747_mine. There are two labeled with this name. one is the xdf file that you are looking for the other is an .ecu file. The .ecu file can be imported and converted, and I did that, before I found the 7747_mine.xdf.
ASDU is not a bin file that I have.
Save a copy of the original bin file and up load it to moates to share with the rest of us.

And as the poster above said... After you laod your bin or any bin into RT, you need to either "OPEN XDF" if you have a definition file for the $42, or "IMPORT FROM ECU" if you have it in ECU format (which you do, comes with Tunerpro, called 7747-mine.ecu)
Well last night someone broke into my truck and stole one of my laptop computers. I should not have left it in there but I really figured no one was pathetic enough to steal a 10 year old antiquated computer. There are some real scumbags in this world. The computer was basically free when I got it, but still it worked for what I used it for. What aggravates me the most about the whole thing is that they also took my cig-lighter charger for my laptops which I literally just got in the mail last Friday.. I just felt like venting on here, sorry to waste your time .
I will not let this deter me from my pursuit for a good custom burned chip done personally... It's just a temporary setback.
Well, I finally got my replacement stuff in the mail... Now with a different laptop, I cannot get the PCM to recognize that the ALDL is connected, when in fact, it most definetly is. After connecting the cable, I go to the connect option in TPRT ALDL drop down menu. I'm stumped as can be and would really appreciate any help.
I think I have it loaded right finally. There are boxes with lots and lots of stuff, constants/scalars, flags, tables. Does this mean it worked? Where would I find the egr function to disable it, and, change the displacement to 360 cubic inches.. Can I leave the egr bolted on after tuning out until I get a block off plate? I figure this might be a good place for a novice to start the actual burning. Thanks
Would there be an obvious reason I'm overlooking as to why I can't seem to edit the stock bin I have loaded? I try to change any of the values in the boxes, for example EGR On constant. I set that to 0, click save, re-open it and it didn't save.
