LC-1 Wbo2 Readings?

Just wondering if any of you using an lc-1 wbo2 get odd readings every now and then?? Example I will be cruising along at 50mph in 3rd gear and 1600rpm and all is good 14.9-14.3 Afr readings. Then I will slow down and turn or have to come to a stop, then once back into the same rpm/map range etc it will read in the 12.8-13.5 afr range. Now I have just recalibrated it in free air and checked all the wiring. My tune is all good and everything is running as normal. Although when I recalibrated it. The led did not stay off for any time after I let go of the Calibration button. Any one know how fast the Free air calibration normally takes?? It will go back to reading the right Afr after a throttle change or Map change of slight amounts. Any thoughts or ideas?? or should I be looking at a new O2 sensor?? Blm/int are steady while this is happening?? THanks

Re: LC-1 Wbo2 Readings?

slow down? It will create vac in manifold pull the gas coating the surfaces of manifold which provides enrichment and will be seen by WB02 sensor and report. I bet INT will rise as result and then settle back down. then I expect the lack of manifold saturation will go lean next on WB and then settle in again at proper A/F after manifold is wetted. That is unless you accelerate following event. My calibration takes maybe 2 seconds? I keep forgetting to recalibrate periodically. I bet only needed once every 3 months. Not sure if Honda/VW ECU recalibrates after car shut down? Great Q however!

Where is your sensor located? Mine was in ext pipe just behind collector. Now it is about 16 inches further back. Innovate says was getting over heated? Not sure if mine sees any fresh air from rear tailpip/muffler? No cat.

Slow down that no fun?? Any way you could be right about the manifold wetting! It is and Air-gap manifold. My sensor is in the 3" section of the ypipe about 6" down from the merge where both banks join in. I just found it weird that it would do this under steady state cruise? As for the calibration, I push the disconect button for 3sec's and then let go and the light goes back on? I dont think it even takes a second or 2.

I would not datalog until that manifold is fully heat soaked. I sure it was said it is not tuner friendly. TBI I will say does not like a cold plenum. Mine will go rich-lean then back to 15.0/1 if I let off gas if traffic slows ahead of me cruising at 65 mph. I think my button is "calibration". My unit may be 4 years old.

Re: LC-1 Wbo2 Readings?

Yep that kinda what I thought. My tuning is all done when fully heat soaked and the tune is good blm+-3. This does only seem to happen when its between cold and fully hot. As for the Air-gap its not that bad once you have a handle on tuning. Its great in the summer though!!. Ive never had a problem in the winter either and I live in B.C. Thanks though Ronny I guess Im just seeing fuel drop out or something.

I ran an X ram for 1.5 seasons. the worse possible manifold for cold climate.
