EBL Flash and Multiport??

Just wondering how many of you are running the EBL with a multiport system?? Tuned port or otherwise?? Im thinking of going to an Accell singleplane intake with there fuel rails and Or maybe the Holley version and converting to The EBL. Should be fairly simple, add the extra injector plugs and wires and plug in the ebl with The stripped down tbi as a throttle body and go right?? Setting constants and fuel setting's of course. Anyone got any thoughts?? Or currently running a similiar set up?? I do my own tuning now with TBI and a 7747 but I think that I want to get a way from the wet intake anoyances and maybe get a little more Fuel mileage as well!!

Re: EBL Flash and Multiport??

There are more then a handful of folks running an EBL Flash with the Port Mod on MPFI setups. Some have swapped on TPI's in place of the TBI along with mini-ram's, ram-jet's, edelbrock conversions and other setups.

As long as the Accel intake is a decent design I don't see any issues with what you would like to do. This is along the lines of the edelbrock MPFI conversion kits. Uses the stock TB without the pod (there is a block-off plate for it), then a single plane intake with fuel rails and injectors.

I would be leary of Accel injectors. Not sure if you are going to use them or not. I would go with a Bosch injector.

The lack of wet flow makes the setup run cleaner. More so on a throttle lift. Tuning the AE gets touchy, this is from not having the plenum acting as a sponge (capacitor) to temper the fuel. But once dialed in they run nice.

Re: EBL Flash and Multiport??

Thanks for the Reply Rbob! I would be using different injectors, Thanks for the recomendation!! The only thing that would concern me is that there may be a loss of bottom end torgue with the single plane??

Re: EBL Flash and Multiport??

There can be some loss at the bottom end as the runners are shorter and typically larger in cross section. But making comparisons can be difficult. Even dual planes can have large runners and plenums.

BOSCH III is the way to go for TPI cars. I just got done putting mine on and it made all the difference. It might have also had something to do with the new intake manifold and runners, and EGR valve and distributor, but its like a new car!

it's the truth. we have sold hundreds of these injectors, 19lbs and up. We continue to get rave reviews. I sold a set of 27lb design lll's to this guy out west, he wrote me and said that his fuel consumption went from 21.9 mpg to 27.2 mpg. He reset the computer because he thought that something was "amiss", but he wasn't seeing things at all. Needless to say he was very happy. He actually purchased a second set.
