Questions in comparing stock AKXY to ARAP

Have been comparing my stock bin (AKXY) to ARAP have a couple of initial questions:
1. Analog MAF meter in use... checked on stock not on ARAP
2. Cooling fan N/O Req Input... checked on stock not on ARAP

Re: Questions in comparing stock AKXY to ARAP

The "Analog MAF meter in use" flag in ARAP isn't used for that. The $6E mask can only handle an analog MAF. That flag (as incorrectly labeled) is used to set the polarity of the 4th gear switch (auto trans).

The cooling fan N/O request difference is due to a change in how the fan relays are wired.

Note that ARAP is a y-body calibration, not an f-body. So this is to be expected. I believe that the cooling fan NO/NC was brought up in your other thread.

Also note how much spark timing ARAP runs. Aluminum '113 heads on the L98 for that calibration.

RBob.

Re: Questions in comparing stock AKXY to ARAP

I have the stock AKXY and a AUJM bin supplied by JMS. The AUJM seems the same as ARAP, but with less aggressive timing. I have deleted the cold start injector, but was thinking of also trying the stock bin with injector constant changed to reflect the 30lb injectors. I will probably set the injector constant at 28lb as can't find a reference for the Vipers as to what PSI they deliver the 30lb per hour.

Thanks, Robert

I am running ARAP with dual fans on my 86 with dual relays running off the signal wire coming from the ECM. The fans are running all the time as soon as the car is running, I missed something in the ARAP bin didnt I?

I did a search and you are supposed to reverse the fan switch in the switches list?
