Hey all, I'm using a .73 OD T5 trans in my '91 Trans Am with a 2.73 gear. The correct output shaft and VSS gears are not available for this combination, so I am going to have to modify the VSS signal somehow.
I have been reading up on using a DRAC and it seems like it might work, but I have one question. Most people seem to be using the DRAC when they have a 40 tooth reluctor wheel (40 pulses per rev). Since my VSS is gear driven how will I ever find out which DRAC jumper setting will work for me? The input ratio calculations do not account for a gear driven VSS.
Is the DRAC right for me? Are there other options? Thanks for the help guys.

I dont have the ~2" speedo gear. i have the 7/8" speedo gear. So I'd need the red 9 tooth drive gear with a 19 tooth driven gear which is not offered. I contacted these guys about it today http://www.transmissioncenter.org/GM...eter_Gears.htm
After I had searched for a while and started to learn a bit, thats what I was afraid of. Thanks for clearing it up for me RBob. And by the way, I sincerely appreciate your input. I don't think people say that enough around here. Guys like you are what have made this site one of the best information sources on the web. I appreciate your time, and your knowledge.
Looks like I'll be using a Dakota Digital box to correct this issue unless someone has a better idea.
