Datalogging and 16197427

I have a 95 S10 I need to data log, it is OBD 1 and uses a 16197427 ECU but it has a OBD2 connector. I have a cable I use to hook my USB laptop up to OBD2 vehicles. Am I able to use that with winALDL somehow or do I have to get a USB to Serial adapter then make my own ALDL cable?

I haven't tried winALDL yet but I did try the program I usually use and when I plugged the cable into the connector it powered on but when trying to connect it maked the initial connection then sais "detecting vehicle" then after that "connection failed."

Re: Datalogging and OBD 1.5

I was under the impression that winALDL was only for 160 baud rate ALDL streams, and the '7427 ECM is 8192 baud.

Also, I've had no luck getting winALDL to work with a USB to serial adapter, but your results may vary...

Try tuner proRT?

Re: Datalogging and OBD 1.5

Anyone else know anything or better yet have personal experience? I really need to get working on this. Honestly I feel like I'm at a major disadvantage with this 16197427 PCM I have and the OBD2 port on an OBD1 car, do you guys agree? I'm really close to saying **** this and mega squirting it, I have built and tuned MS before.
