A lot of knoks

i have just run a check with WinALDL (no other program is running properly on Vista with USB-to-RS232 cable) and recieved this log, car is 305 TPI with 350TPI injectors, EGR and AIR removed. I have burned CHIP with injector size changed and EGR swiched-off, rest is stock. Any clues why is it knocking so hard, what should i change ?? or mayby it is just knock-sensor dead ??
After running hard pulls car looses power, headres start to glow and timing is being retarted a lot.

best regards

Re: A lot of knoks

Possibly mechanical knock. One way to tell is to pull timing. If you see in datalog a specific RPM/MAP pull 3 deg and rerun a datalog. If you are not tuning .bin pull 3 deg at the distributor.

Re: A lot of knoks

If you are using a 10K resistor between ALDL pins A&B, need to remove it. Leaving it in place will change how the ECM operates, including adding timing.

With most of the knock happening at low loads, it very well could be false knock.

RBob.

P.S. note that the 305 TBI engine uses swirl port heads. These heads have a faster burn which requires less spark timing. You should probably use the spark tables from a L03 TBI ECM.
