Idle O2 settings in 730

Trying to get as smooth idle as I can. Right now it seems to fluctuate +/-75 RPM. So based on a thread on tuning idle for a cammed engine http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/di...ome-those.html (How to fix some of those common idle issues (big cam, surging, stalls, etc.)) I've adjusted the Loop Closed Param, Idle O2 Rich/Lean Slow Zero Lower, & Upper, and threadhold to lower values which helped the idle and reduced the rich smell. But also in that thread they reference a table which in SAUJP_V4 is Loop closed Param, Slow O2 R/L vs Map Lower, & Upper, and threshold. Do I need to adjust those tables for the map area I idle in (40-50 kpa) or these are for off idle areas? The reason I ask is that after adjusting the Idle O2 values my O2 mv at a warmed up idle will range from say 82mv to 750mv. I realize the O2 will swing rich to lean but I didn't think it would swing that much. My VE is a little rich in the area I idle because I have been trying to nail down the MAT compensation stuff.

Try this too,
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/di...k-advance.html (Erratic Idle spark advance, 7730, $8D SD)
Could be a combination of the two will smooth it out. Not sure if you will be able to stabilize it closer than +/-50 RPM just because of resolution of the readings.

Re: Idle O2 settings in 730

Yep, that's a good suggestion. I've already 0'd out the idle comp tables. I've read probably just about every thread on the board pertaining to $8D and a majority of the posts in the stickies. My idle is not too bad it just I think I can get it a little better.

BTW, thanks for all your help and suggestions. Without members like you willing to help out I'd never have been able to swap my SS over to EFI.
