is a 90 corvette ZR1 the same ecm as a 90 third gen???

Most likely they are not the same. I know that from '91 and newer the ZR-1 ECM's are not the same as used in the TPI cars.

If the '90 ZR-1 is SFI, which I believe all ZR-1's are, then it is a different ECM then the '90 TPI. The TPI ECMs are all batch fire.

i just found out they are the memcals and everything just the mask , etc are diff, as is with all our cars...

The '90 & '91 ZR-1 used the 1228331 ECM.
The '92 through '95 ZR-1 used the 16163993 ECM.

Which neither of is used in a TPI setup.

The MEMCAL may be interchangeable. But as you mention the mask/code is completely different.

yes, the memcal's contents will be scrapped, bin read into tunerpro manipulated, for hardware changes....
