Swapped to T5, engine wants to stall when I push the clutch in.
I just swapped to a T5 and have been learning how to drive it on the fly. Once thing I notice is when I push in the clutch the RPMS drop so quickly that the needle dips well below idle and sometimes even stalls. I'm thinking throttle follower?
Also, what else, if anything, do I need to futz around with in the PROM when swapping to manual?
Re: Swapped to T5, engine wants to stall when I push the clutch in.
First make sure that the ECM isn't going into DFCO. If so then raise the RPM and/or MPH limits.
Other then that the throttle follower would need to be changed. Slow down the rate that the IAC closes down on a throttle lift. And add some TF minimum steps.
Be sure there is enough maximum TF steps to be effective.
Re: Swapped to T5, engine wants to stall when I push the clutch in.
From what I've seen, there are more things in the chip between a stick and automatic chip than what we can change. The stalling when you push in the clutch is one of them.
Ideally you'll want to start with a 305 5-speed chip and modify it from there. The AXXD is the 90-92 305 TPI 5-speed chip I started with.
