The Burn 2 is an EPROM programmer, meaning it can read and program the EPROMs it has been designed to work with.
It is not an EPROM emulator, which is what would be needed for real time tuning. The Ostrich 2.0 is a great EPROM emulator.
The Burn 2 is the go between for the EPROM and my laptop? The emulator is a program that runs on my laptop and sends the information through the Burn 2 to the EPROM? I'm I beginning to understand this? Thanks for your help. I'll be looking up Ostrich 2.0 EPROM emulator now.

Not at all. From this statement I would have to assume you're a gamer, that uses "emulators" for Nintendo and other game systems on your computer.

The program needed for the Burn 2 is called "Flash and burn", and is what is used to open the bin file into the buffer and then used to operate with the burn2. It is also used to read an EPROM. I believe that Tuner Pro can also be used with a Burn 2, but I can't personally verify this.

Questions:
1) If using the Ostrich 2.0 emulator wood still need to use the Burn 2 that I have?
2) What are the actual components I need to program my EPROM?
3) What would be the sequence of events I would need to do in order to program the EPROM?

Not at the same time. The emulator is used for real time tuning, the programmer is used to program an EPROM with the bin file you want installed in the ECM, in a more permanent way. Just as a side note, I have been using my Ostrich as a permanent install in my car for over a year now.

I haven't used the Burn 2, so I can't say about specifics of that product, but the programmer I use is pretty simple.
-I plug the programmer into my laptop, open the program, wait for it to initialize and give me the go a head to place an EPROM in the ZIF socket.
-Insert the EPROM in the ZIF socket.
-Select the proper EPROM from the menu.
-Set the offset
-Browse to and open the bin file I want.
-Click "Burn"
-Wait about 5 seconds
-Remove EPOM from the ZIF socket.
I've been using Transtronics Pocket Romulator mounted directly on to the ECM going on 5 years now. I started with Tunercat/RT, and then TunerPro RT.
With constant tweaking, burning chips is a waste of time for me, not to mention having to remove and replace the chip (results in loose sockets, bent pins...etc.)
On the Romulator serial port I have a USB cable permanently attached, I just connect to the Laptop, TP automatically connects to it, and with the Moates ALDL converter I monitor, datalog then tune, I'm just so happy with this stuff, burning a chip is the furthest thing from my mind.
