Help what power inverter do i need for a laptop with no batterie? sine wave question

so i have a laptop thats older and has NO batterie......I have all my tuning stuff on it like tunnerpro and im lookin for a power inverter to run it while im logging my truck and tuning. I have read up on the inverters but still have not found a good answer. What size and type inverter do i need to run a laptop size--- Input : AC 100-240V ~1.5 A, 50-60hz
Output: DC 19 V, 3.16 A

I have read that if the laptop has no battery and you goin to use the inverter to power just the laptop then i need a inveter thats pure sine wave output not modified sine wave.

Just want to make sure i get the right thing so i can power the laptop in the truck and not burn stuff up!

Re: Help what power inverter do i need for a laptop with no batterie? sine wave quest

Great question!!!
I'd love to know the answer to this as well....

My laptop has a battery, but I'd love to keep emulating while my laptop is charging pluged into the cigarette lighter.....

Right now I find that I only have a limited range and have to come home for a recharge.

Anyone?

Most laptop manufacturers make an auto/air adapter, but they're usually about $100.

I've been using a basic inverter from Harbor Freight http://www.harborfreight.com/80-watt...ter-66972.html. I've head this one for close to a year with no problems. Ran a similar inverter for a couple of years before that. Used it with 3 different laptops, and haven't ever had any issues.
