90 camaro vats

i have a 90 camaro 5.0 the column was changed to no chip key it wouldnt start cause of vats they put a ecu from a 88 truck without vats in it it starts but dont run right was that the correct way to bypass vats or do i need to change th prom to a camaro prom

You should put the original ECM chip back in and bypass the VATS http://www.thirdgen.org/vats

Wow.....

I definatly wouldn't want my vehicles repaired by that place.

Putthe original ECM in and use a resistor of the same value that matches the original ignition key in the wires that would have connected to the original column.

Better yet, take the car back and tell them to repair it properly with all of the original equipment in tact and working like it should be.
