I just got my LC-1 installed and running ( i think) any way it is wired in using A3 pin on the ecm i am using TP/RT to data log/ tune this 7730 ecm .
When i look at the live data in TP everything is "live" except for the WB AF ratio
what may i have overlooked in this setup? I am 99.9% sure the LC-1 is not to blame just me and my sometimes very poor puter skills..... any help or direction apprectiated thanks.....
I still am troubled with this...could i send you a copy of TP/RT V5 that i am using and have you check the settings... i really want to get this thing working, I have tried multi times ...with no results....thanks GTA
Sure send it over.
I'm thinking to check that the scaling in the LC-1 is correct and that the indicator light flashes when warming up then stays on solid.
That indicates it is working ok
Stack your bin if using the 512 or big chip like that too.
Double/triple check your pin counting.
Could be on the opposite side or something like that. easy to get it on the wrong side when looking at the connectors.
What value is indicating? (hi or Low)
Is the WB light on solid after the warmup flashing?
I don't see anything wrong with the bin setup.
Must not be outputting anything or the scaling is FUBAR in the unit itself.
Try reversing the outputs from the LC-1 setup or just set both outputs to be scaled for the 0-5v = 7.35-22.29 AFR.
You are using the RAW output setting, A3 selected, word 37 is the ALDL output set to $0035 so it should be reading if its actually outputting voltage.
Check it at idle with a multimeter if you have one available too.
Just to confirm something is there.
I finally had time to check the output voltage from the A3 pin . @ idle it shows 2.3-2.8 volts .....as the car idles the voltage is constantly changing...as for the indicator light, it is steadly on as the car idles indicating proper operation....i will try it again tomorow GTA....
I'd have to agree.
There must be something wrong on the A3 line.
Move the pin over to F14 and clear the bit
(WB OPT 2, bit 7, Input "A3", Else "F14")
From my testing (bench and in car), of a few '7730s and '7749s, the F14 pin seems to be much more reliable for WBO2 connection than A3. I thinki I had one maybe two ECMs actually show a connection on A3.
This was while watching the Tuner Pro RT dash and WBO2 data.
Where do you guys get the electrical "ends" and the tools that are required to
install the wire on the "F14" ?? I had my local GM dealer install it on A3 the first time but tonite i went to move it and i pulled the wire off and the connector stayed behind.....any ideas?? GTA
You need to remove the blue pieces from the connector, then, using a paper clip, or the proper tool, if you get one, slide it into the small hole above where the pin is inserted, pushing to the side, you can release the pin from the connector. I will sometimes, push the pin a little farther in, just to make sure the clip doesn't get hung up.
I think there was a tutorial posted here some time ago.

Grrrrr... i guess i will go back to the dealer and do it again..... i dont have the proper tools...... i really hope this works this time........sigh gta.....

No need for special tools. IIRC, there is also a thread in the Tuning Guide Book sticky on this.
To get wire ends with the terminals on them hit a u-pull-it yard. Look for a vehicle that has had the engine removed. Most of the time they just cut the harness. Which leaves the ECM connectors ends.

now the i've moved it over to F14 and checked the voltage ...at idle it shows 2.3-2.6 at idle...and the voltage drops as the rpm increases....BUT TP/RT still shows nothing...no live data.. its stuck on 12.70 .... Help GTA
I haven't the foggiest why this is being so difficult to get the reading
Grab the latest beta version from TunerPro site anyway while your waiting for me.
I'm going to re-verify the file I sent you on my car again, I just made a log today with it (ADX file)
We'll put 2 and 2 together again to be sure nothing has been corrupted in the setups. I'll shoot the file to you as soon as I can.

What does TP show if there is no connection to the LC-1?
It shows everthing as normal ....just the WB "guage" is stuck on 12.75 and does not move....everything else works great. GTA..
Ok...
I am asking what does TP RT show when the WBO2 is disconnected from the ECM? What does the WBO2 value say, with no input connected to the ECM from the LC-1?
I still can't find anything wrong with the files or setup you have.
I'm going to go backwards and have you confirm the pin in the connectors again.
It just seems to be the only thing left.
Take a look at the attached picture.
This is looking at the ECM with the connectors installed. (Looking at the wires coming out)
confirm the connection is in the correct place.
It is easy to flip sides with the connector out of the ECM.
Sorry my computer & email has been dead for several days and won't be up for the rest of the week, HD partition table is FUBAR.
(Can't remember the mail password to get it off the website)
Will let you know when I get it.
System is back alive now.
Some good news for you (kind of)
I see data changing on the B3 pin in the log you sent
(should have been A3). B3 is unused but I have code in the read that connection.
I think the pin is in the wrong spot. Move it to the other side of the connector and you should be fine.
Check the picture I posted earlier to confirm (careful not to reverse your view)
Picture is looking at the ECM with the connectors installed (wires coming towards you.
I hope that is all it is.
John
That data log that i sent you ..... was created with the LC-1 wired in to F14....so must i move it back to B3 to get that bugger to read correctly?? thanks GTA......
Leave it at F14, I think the data I saw was ghosting from the TPS channel or something. Anyway I'm pretty sure it is unrelated if you were connected at F14 still.
Verify the signal ground from the LC-1 is connected to the ECM ground.
If you can read it with a meter while referencing the chassis then the ECM must not be referenced to the LC-1.
Thats the only thing I can think why you don't see anything in the logs.
I Finally got it to work!!!!! I had to upload plain ol SAUJP V4 and "POOF" there she was!!! So I guess there was / is something funny with the copy of the bin i sent you? I'm not sure...Now HOW do i transfer all of my data to A good V4 Bin?
Thanks GTA....
Will the Saujpv4 put out WB AFR with only ignition on?
Having a LC-1 connected to F14
LC-1 prg to 0-5v Analog out 1
Bin WB opt 2 bit 7 NOT SET
Bin WB opt 1 bit 2 SET
TP shows AFR 7.35 all the time, tried to change the analog out on LC1 but TP didnt respond....
Havent started car yet, just repinned 165-730 and is abit tired in my head....
Any hints? will try again tomorrow .......starting with checking voltage on pin F14.....

No, The engine must be running to execute that part of the code.
You may be ok with the following change, just need to start it up to confirm.
For your setup use Opt 2, bit 0 for Raw output instead.
The Opt 1, b2 is for a different WB. (you may have just reversed the text in the post?)
Set the LC1 output to 0-5 volts = 7.35 to 22.29 AFR
In TunerPro- Edit Definition of ADX, Create the "Value" call it Wide Band or whatever.
Packet offset = 0x24, 8 bit setting
TP Conversion = X * 0.058980 + 7.350000
Can set alarms as you wish.
Once signal has been confirmed to work on the raw output, then go to the LC1 setting
Opt 2, bit 1 and adjust your scaling.
Or you can leave it on Raw if desired.
