Saujp4 4th gear switch bit problem

So I am trying to tune a this streetrod tpi retrofit for My Uncle and am having some issues with the 4th gear switch.
The car is using a '727 running saujp v4 1026a. The trans is what I believe to be an early 700r4. My uncle tells me that the engine and trans are a stock CCC-305 and 700r4 from an early 80's Buick. Its now sporting a TPI and custom wiring harness (by me).
Anyhow when the trans is in low gears the switch is reported as being in 4th (using TunerProRT and the current public released SAUJP definitions). And of course when the trans shifts into 4th the aldl reports is as being in "low gears".
In an attampt to correct this I have set bit 2 in option word1 both ways, but the result is the same. I verified that the bit is being changed in the bin using a hex editor.
Is this a code error? or am I missing something here?

Re: Saujp4 4th gear switch bit problem

I believe there are two parts to this.
One is the N.O. setting of the bit to reconcile if the switch is open or closed so the bin setting will control which lockup tables to use for lockup.

The 2nd is the ALDL data indication.
This just passes the indication out if locked or not.
This is setup for OFF or "False" = "4th" (can easily be reversed in the ADX)
It is indicating correctly and functioning correctly with my switch "set" for N.O. above.

The switches in the trans can be either way, only way to confirm is to check it.

I've never used it with an N.C. switch so if you still have issues I can dig some more to confirm what happens if reversed.

Re: Saujp4 4th gear switch bit problem

okay thanks, so basically the ALDL output will not change along with the n.o./n.c. switch option bit change.

Maybe I'll setup the TCC lockup tables way differently from each other and test to verify that its using the proper tables tomorrow. Then hopefully just a change to the adx is all I need now.

Thanks
Marvin
