Decel RPM changes
My drivability concern with my car is; between shifting gears and when trying to roll thru a parking lot slowly, revs go down quite a bit, I would like to get the revs to stay up when coasting and between shifts. Is there an easy way to do this? I thought maybe IAC-DFCO steps but not sure, It would make the car much nicer to drive if it didn't nose-dive when I let up on the throttle. (manual TBI F-body)

On a warmed up engine and no other loads (A/C and fan off), will want between 5 & 10 IAC steps to hold the idle. Can use the WUD to see the IAC steps and adjust the throttle stop screw to attain 5 - 10 steps.
Then, for slow speed coasting adjust:
IAC - TF Min Steps
For between shifts there are several parameters that may be adjusted. I usually work with the decay filters to adjust the speed at which the TF steps decay out:
IAC - Steps Decay filters
The higher the value the faster the TF IAC steps decay out.

Re: Decel RPM changes
Something wierd but unrelated... I think my copy of v31 xdf file is corrupt or something. everything in tunerpro is blank. Do you think you could send me that file? or direct me to where I can get another copy?

Re: Decel RPM changes
I know its been a while but I wanted to give thanks to you RBob, finally got around to getting the laptop in the car and making it drive better, adjusted the IAC settings you suggested and now my car drives a thousand times better. coasts when I let up on the throttle, gear changes were smoother once I pulled some AE out (never decreased after adding bigger injectors and bumping fuel pressure). Anyone who is frustrated, needing help getting there car running the right way just read everything RBob says! I still have things to work out with my setup, but the car is coming along nicely!

Re: Decel RPM changes
Bringing this back from the dead to work more on IAC settings,
ever since I swapped from my original TBI to the 454 TBI, the idle right after start is pretty high until the IAC steps decay out.
The engine flairs up to 2k rpm then goes down to idle after a few seconds.
I would like to get it to 1300-1500 rpm instead, what should I adjust?

Re: Decel RPM changes
Check the IAC steps (counts) on a warm idle with no other loads. Should be between 5 & 10 steps. Adjust as required and see how the crank to start flair is.
If that is all OK: with the larger TBI unit then need to reduce the power up (key-on) init steps table:
IAC - Powerup Init Steps
RBob.
