EBL / Tuner Pro causing Flashing CEL! HELP
HELP! I am just back to retune my sons car, it is a vortec 355, TBI, aluminum 2.02 heads... GM Vortec intake.
Had it running fine with the cast iron heads, actually ran great... But now when I tried to open Tuner Pro it had been almost a year so I went ahead and updated it.. No other changes. Now If I make any changes to the bin and try and drop it in, the Check Engine Light flashes fast.. If I go back to any of my old files, they don't work very well at all, it drops in fine and runs sorta. The SA is crazy and the VE maps are no where near close... but even if I do a VE Learn it wont take the VE bin. SO now I have a crappy running car!! HELP! I tried to reinstall Tuner Pro, and even redownloaded the XDF.
Any one have a clue? I am totally stuck, and the boy now has a terrible running ride to drive to school next week..
XFD is 61v3.
I found that the bins all show that I have 108 cylinders!!! It is weird..
Thank you in advance!
John

Use the XDF file that was supplied with the EBL system.
Any BIN that was changed with the 61v3 XDF is trashed, delete them.

To get the proper XDF I need to know the EBL ECM firmware version. Do this, with a good calibration bank and the engine running, the bottom of the main screen of the WUD will show the version number (give it a few seconds).
EMail that to me and I'll email back the proper XDF.
If the WUD doesn't show the firmware version, get the latest WUD from the Update page of our web site. Note that you can also do a playback of a data log to get the version information on the WUD.

BLM mode or WB mode? WB mode needs to be open loop while BLM mode needs to be in closed loop. Engine temperature needs to be within the CTS * learn window (Preferences dialog).

BLM mode. OK I will see what the CTS is set too. Is it normal to have it log knock and not VE?

Re: EBL / Tuner Pro causing Flashing CEL! HELP
The knock logging occurs all of the time in the WUD. It doesn't do anything except display the information (retards & counts).
A VE Learn is different in that it creates a new BIN. So it needs to be started as it is important to give the WUD the correct 'learn from' BIN.
The reason there isn't a spark advance learn based on knock, is that 98% of the time the knock is false.
