93 Eprom

I AM HOPING SOMEONE CAN TELL ME IF THE EPROM IN MY 93 LT1(SERVICE # 16159278) IS A 27C256 OR WHAT???? CANT SEEM TO FIND THAT INFO ANYWHERE!!!I HAVE A POCKET PROGRAMMER ON THE WAY AND WOULD LIKE TO ORDER SOME SPARE CHIPS.
I MUST EXPRESS MY THANKS TO ALL THE GURUS OUT THERE FOR THE AWSOME INFO!!!! ESPECIALLY TRAX FOR THE INTRO, NOW IM HOOKED!

93 LT1 use the 27C256 Eproms.

DONT KNOW WHAT A BCC/MASK NUMBER IS. COULD YOU LET ME KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR?THE NUMBERS ON THE CHIP ARE BDLD 7063 ON THE WINDOW STICKER AND BELOW THAT

ALSO WOULD THIS BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE 29C256 FLASH PROM?

All 93 LT1's used Memcals which housed 27C256 eproms. The 27C256 eprom is soldered into the Memcal so you will have to unsolder the stock eprom and and resolder a flash prom in there or install a ZIF socket so you can swap out the chips easier.

The BDLD is the type of program that is in your eprom. For my car I have the BDZL which is for the 93 A4 w/3.23 gears. I believe the BDLD is the M6 w/3.23 if im not mistaken.

BDLD is the BCC (Broadcast code) that also identifies your ecm as being a 16159278, and a mask of DA.
If your going to get into prom burning, I'd suggest you remember that info..
That ecm uses the 256 series of proms so you can use the 29..

The www.tunercat.com site list some info, I happen to have a BCC book, and probably a couple dozen other sites, in time you'll gather where to look.
