I have a akm cable and moates software and can't get it too hook up. Tried two different computers and two different 165's, used hyperterminal on both computers and the cable checked out, started up in dos on both, used some software to check the interface and that checked out okay. I've played with the grounds and everything else and no luck. Its for an 86. I need some ideas, I've been messing with it for two weeks and no luck.
mine takes about 1/2 second then i get takeninto the program. are you 100% sure that everything is hooked up right? we made a cable and it checked out on hyperterminal but wouldnt link to the car. you do have the 10k resistor in there right?

It was my fault. In the instructions it said use the female connector on the aldl side. Well I used the male connector and that screwed up my pins to solder to. Got it working and it works great. But now I have to get a new harddrive for my laptop since it broke a couple of days ago.
