NEW HEREE- HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT WIRING HARNESS SWAP FOR LT1 MOTOR

i'M PUTTING AN LT1 IN MY 91 TPI FIREBIRD. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT PARTS OF THE OLD WIRING HARNESS NEEDS TO STAY IN AND WHAT SHOULD COME OUT. WIRING DIAGTAMS WOULD BE HELPFUL.

If you want to go the quick and dirty way Painless wiring offers an LT1 swap harness. I guess their kits are real slick with the wires color coded and labeled from them. if you don't want to go that way you will need the complete powertrain wiring harness. Make sure to label the wires when you disconnect them. I would recomend a factory manual for it's wiring diagrams.

I used a factory harness. a little more time consuming, but 600 for a painless. I extended mine, just do one wire at a time. what you need to keep is dependent on how you have your ECM programed.
