Do a search under "cruise control". I did and found a lot of help. My "set" button doesn't work, only the "res/acc". I might just replace the whole lever anyway, the white letters are gone.

on my 89 GTA, the cruise control wiring had gotten crushed inside the steering column. replacing the whole stalk (which includes the cruise control switch wiring that goes all the way to the base of the steering column) solved the problem.

an "easy" way to test this would be to get a replacement stalk, and hook up the cruise control wires under the dash at the base of the steering column. this saves you from having to rip off the steering wheel to get to the mess of wiring in the steering column, at least for testing.
