Getting alternator noise on my CB which is power through the radio fuse block...help!
I've got the power through the fuse block of the radio, which I assumed would be filtered...I think it's grounded okay, but I'm still getting alternator noise...I don't want to go right to the battery because I just know I'll leave the stupid thing on and kill my battery...any ideas? Can I buy a filter or something? Thanks a lot...

THey sell noise filters.... you can get them anywhere from pop boys to radio Hack, to stereo shops... They wire in series, in between the power source wire (if your using the radios, than that) and the cb.
I use it because my stereo has 4 amps, and they pick up ALL KINDS of engine noise, lol.
Do you have a magnetic mount whip antenna to complete the package? (Sorry, couldn't resist) You can have a good ground, but it could just be in the wrong location. A "ground loop" can cause interference. Try to have as short a ground wire as possible in the same location which your radio is grounded. Make sure you run your power wires away from any signal wires such as for your stereo and antenna. Filter might be a good idea if you just can't stop it.
