i did searches for cruise control, and all the posts are for stock installed...
i have aftermarket, and it appears everything is working, i have the vacuum thing up from, and when i plug in my module, and hook it up, it just never catches or keeps the speed or anything, im trying to find a new cruise control module, but not having any luck finding one, i dont want to spend the $250 for the whole assembly either, anyone have any suggestions or what should i begin looking at first? im kind of new to the eletronic side, so if you can, explain a little in detail, any help will be HIGHLY appreciated...
Have you tried contacting the manufacturer of the unit for help with your problem? If they have an assistance dept., chances might be good that they've answered this question before. Assuming you followed directions properly & it's still not working, the unit itself might be defective.
If that fails, more specific detials about the unit might help in diagnosing your problem.

theres a hole in the top, and i can see a chip(in a similar setup as if i was burning a new prom for my car), but it has little sliding buttons on it, there are 6 of them, i can turn them on or off...
when we tried to hook it up, we hooked it up, and i think there was an adapter already plugged in, but my bro tried splicing into the tach and something else when hooking it up...
i have the stick and everything for it, and it appears to work on everything else...
i imagine, if worst comes to worse, figure out where all these wires are supposed to go and just manually put them in or what?
also, this piece of equipment looks REALLY old, and im thinking that maybe its just not working...
i did a search on www.google.com and found the companys webpage after a while, i sent them an e-mail to Customer Service, requesting directions for a manual, and never heard anything from them...
any ideas?

Just from a guess, I'd say the only 2 wires you'd need to your car would be 1, it hooked to a tach lead and 2, a wire to your brake switch. By the wires I assume this is a vacuum controlled unit so you would need to tap a vac. source from your engine. Most everything else looks to go to the controller. Also I'd guess one of those 12+'s should be on a ignition switched power wire. Vac & vent valve,, not a clue unless there's additionalparts to the unit. Those little DIP switch are for setting something,, they change the remote code on my ceiling fan,, I'd guess they are set a certain way from the factory.
I checked their site,, pretty vauge.
What did you mean by 'and it appears to work on everything else'? Like another car? If that's the case,, maybe you didn't hook it up to the right lead for the tach. I'd guess this thing relies solely on that for holding/ maintaining speed (holds to RPM rather than speed).

well, i called that company today, the guy is faxing me wire diagrams, and a number for a dealer near me, im going to give them a call and everything, and try to get something out of this...
Glad you were able to get some help from the manufact.
I asked about the tach because that unit might have to be spliced into the purple/white (HEI Ref. to ECM) wire from the distributor. Good luck getting it to work.
W/o a wiring diagram for your year car, I couldn't honestly tell you what it would effect. I'm sure the speed sensor is not a blue wire going into the ECM. If any input wires from sensors were cut, you would throw a code. The speedo should operate independant of the tach tho.
I know your car (very sharp too),, I've still got the pics of it saved on my old site that one day I'll get up on my new one.
As far as diagrams, I just have the ones for my bird and my 84 LG4 camaro. Which are generally similar,, but not enough for your year. Sorry I can't be more help with that..
got my alarm in, my power locks in, head unit is all good to go and no more stupid *** alternator whine, everything good to go, but cruise control
we wired everything up correctly, looks like the speed sensor wire was cut from the ECM, got everything hooked up, and the little tabs in the module supposedly in the right place(got the info from the dealer), and it still doesnt work...
we was trying to turn the crusie on last night with the stick with the key turned but car off in dead silence, would i hear the relay up front kick on if its working properly?
other than this i think im going to have to take it back to the dealer which i was totally trying to avoid...
anyways man, thanks for all help that you have given so far...
im about to go wash my car so i can get some new pics
I think that cruise unit just doesn't like you Klay
I don't know if the unit should make a noise (since it's not OEM) when you slide the swith to the 'on' position but, I would think it should at least supply power to the unit to turn it on. From the wiring diagram of factory cruise, it looks as if it should have power in 'on'. I know it doesn't make any noise. It might just be easier to go w/factory cruise from the looks of it.
i dont know, my brother came over at 11 that day, and we didnt finish everything till about 8:30 the following morning, his wife was getting pissy, and we got it all installed, threw the dash back together, went for a test drive, and it still no workie, no tests so far other than turning on and not hearing a clicking noise in any kind of relay, i could hear all the ones for my alarm tho
