Turn Signal Switch/ Bright Lights

Hello,

I am having trouble with my car, its a 91 RS. The switch that has the turn signal, windshield wipers and the bright healdights is not working right. The turn signals work fine, and the wipers work fine, the problem is with the brights, they wont click on. I have it taken apart and I can see were its is broke, but I can not tell how it works. There is a black piece of plastic that pushes a metal bar in to turn them off and on. Does this piece of plastic connect to the turn signal switch, another switch, or does it stand alone? This seems really simple and I dont want to pay alot of money to get it fixed, but it has to work for inspection. The car is a 5 speed manual and it has a tilt wheel. ( As a last resort if anyone knows an easy way to by pass this with a button or switch, that would help to).

Thanks in advance for any comments,
Mark

ITs a pain in the ss. But if you notice on the back of the plastic peice its curved to fit agianst the back of the turn signal arm. Dont pay to get it fixed it is a pain but if you keep screwing around with it you finally say well thats how that friging thing goes on. The only other thing I had to do was adjust my new dimmer switch on the side of the column.Good luck patience usually pays off.
