I am removing my stock gauge cluster so I can replace some burned out bulbs. Everything has gone smoothly and I got it out successfully. My question is in regards to the needles on all of the gauges. Do they have to be in the same place (when the gauge cluster goes back in) as when the car was first turned off? For example, when I turn off the car the speedometer was at 0 MPH, of course. Now it is on 15 MPH. So, is it necessary to keep the needles where they were, or not? My Haynes manual (good for nothing) says nothing about this. P.S. I drew a picture and labeled where the needles were on all of the gauges before I started, just in case.

Of course they won't tell you anything about this. BTW, you didn't need to remove the needles to start with and I hope that you disconnected the battery first. When I had my whole cluster apart, I reset the needle at zero when I put it back on. The tachometer needle was a different story, I had to manually push the needle back to zero with my finger three times before I had it right. It still reads about 100 RPM high but it was doing that before I took it apart

Yes, I disconnected the battery and disconnected the airbag, just in case. I didn't take the needles off, they just moved a little bit. Thank you, once again, Trickster :hail: !
