Window goes slow and stops. If I wait a couple minutes it will move a few more inches and stop. Is this the problem in the motor or regulator? Dealer wants 180 for motor and will install for 50.....ouch. Hawks has them for 50. Whats the difference? I wanted to get it done today, not sure what to do.

the one from the dealer is probably new, the one from hawks is rebuilt. the rebuilt one will probably last almost as long as a new one would. i would go with the one from hawks.

And it is a royal PITA to change too.

Oh *** yes it is... I just did this the other night. Just make sure you have someone there to hold the linkage when you are drilling out the rivets that hold the motor to the linkage... it's spring loaded and will jump like a jack in the box when the gear sprocket comes off the gear... I thought I was going to be picking my fingers up off my workbench.

It took me about a day, it's a lot of tugging, pushing, and pulling, and a few curse words... use some 1/4" bolts and nuts to replace the mounting rivets for the motor to the door. And yes, the rebuilt ones work fine. I got mine at Schucks for $33 with a $2 core charge.

If you drill a small hole in the linkage before you start dissassembly and insert a bolt (obviously this would be in the x-part that overlaps) It will prevent the linkage trying to remove your arm and or fingers, it does however make it alot harder to get the stupid thing out...

I am replacing my driver side motor and I got it off of ebay for 25 shipped with a lifetime warranty. It's a paint getting the old one out though.

are power window doors the same as manual window doors or is there specials mounting points to mount the motors?

Same doors, man you guys make replacing these things harder than it has to be....
