My RS came with a dealer installed alarm, remote entry and starter disable. I really hate this thing and I want to get rid of it. Someone else obviously hated it too since the siren has been disconected. I have had it go physco and start flipping the door locks back and forth.I am ready to install my new 355 and I am taking the time to sort out the wiring while I have the engine out of the way.
What I am looking for is the wiring diagrams for the ignition, locks , and such to reverse engineer this thing and rid myself of it. I know the location of the control box and I need some info before I just go and start pulling wires out. I know this is not the VATS system because I have that disabled and I still have to hit the button on the remote before it will start.
If anyone has removed one of these I'd like to know what you had to do, wire color codes, and any other general info. Anyone who has knowledge putting in one of these things would be a great help as well.
There per se isn't a wiring schematic in the manual for this since it is a dealer installed option for which there isn't an RPO code. If it is like most alarm systems, I would look for a splice in the red wire at pin "A4" coming from connector C100 on the driver side bulkhead. This is the wire going to the ignition switch on the steering column under the dash.
i cant remember what year it is but there is a way to disable the factory alarm, i cant remember exactly but i think it had something to do with turning the key to the on position and pressing the lock button a certain amount of times.
