no crank / no click - full power

sorry to post this twice, i didnt see electronics at first.

njspeeder said touch pos side of batt to some wire on starter with jumper cables.

so ...

blue i couldnt get a jumper cable on

top red = sparked

bottom red = nothing

does this mean bad starter?
bad vats?
bad something else?

how about i have to clamp jumper cables onto pliers and touch them to that blue wire? (might fit that way)

Not sure what you classify as top and bottom from looking at that picture. The big connector there with the three or four wires has a large cable coming from the positive cable on the battery. The large connector below it is the shunt coil connector (not on all starters) connecting the starter and starter solenoid. The purple wire on the small terminal marked "S" goes to either the Park/Neutral switch (automatic) or the clutch safety switch (manual). What are you trying to accomplish here?

top of pic

bottom of pic

red / red at their respective edges of the picture.

anyways.

my car wont start, crank, or even click when i try and start it. it has full power to everything, like my radio works, elec fan, etc.

he said it could be my starter or my vats or something, sowe were testing this theory:

if i can jump the batt to the staretr and get it to crank then i know its the vats or something else thats broke and NOT the starter.

make sense?

so.....

at this point it looks like my starter is bad??
