I have a 2 gauge wire, I was planning to use for my ground to engine, ground to frame and the +12 to the starter, but i've been hearing that you should use 1 awg or bigger for the +12 to starter. Is a 2 awg not good enough?
What gauge wire should I run from the ALT to the battery? Would 10 awg work or should I go bigger?
Also, what size fuse do you recommend for the following objects:
1. Distributor coil
2. Carb choke
3. Elec fan
4. Starter
5. Fuel pump (stock 70 gph)
6. Overall power distribution on the +12 feed
From Alternator to Battery I'd reccomend going as heavy as you can. I changed stock (maybe 12 gauge) to 4. You can't run a wire from ground to frame, ground IS the frame. I think you'd be OK with 2gauge to the starter as well, stock isn't that large so you're already upgrading it. As for the others, I'm not sure.
