Viper 791XV Wiring Guide

I wired in my Viper 791XV Remote Start alarm yesterday and since I had some time to kill today, I decided to create a schematic of how I wired it in. Here's Part 1 - the Relay Satellite:

...and here's Part 2...the 791XV alarm brain wiring. Note that there are still a few channels free (H2/3 & H2/4, if not more) -- I have 3 extra relays laying around and I'm brainstorming what to do with them...

Very Nice!

That's exactly how I wired mine.
This would have been a huge help!

Viper 791XV

I just finished the wiring of my Viper 791XV, well almost, I have all the nessassary alarm wires connected, I don't have the Remote Start Wires connected and the Additional Optional Relays wires connected.

I am not getting a Command Page from the Control Module. When I press a button I see a TX/Signal Icon and then a RX/Signal Icon but soon a series of beeps with a Signal Icon without a TX or RX icon. Every couple of seconds or so I get a RX/Signal icon. If I am correct the RX Icon means that the remote is recieving a signal?

Anyone have any ideas of what I should check? This is my first Alarm but I do have Basic Electronics and computer repair understanding. I also was an electrician for a year and have a certificat of Automotive repair.

Re: Viper 791XV Wiring Guide

I have this alarm and got it installed, it worked fine until Acura messed with it. I found out that the wiring that Acura messed with made the alarm bad. I recently took all wires apart and tried to put all of them together again. Today I tried to see if the remote and all componenets work but when I start the car automatically it turns off again after 8-10 sec. I don't know what I did wrong. I bought a 998T-DEI Techsoft Bitwriter and it tells me all specifics of what the alarm can do and I saved it to the alarm but still wont work. I'm not sure if the bypass module of the o-ring around the ignition is working fine, I think I connecte it correct. My car is a 1999 Acura T.L.3.2. If anyone can help me please let me know I can make pictures and all of my car to show specifics. I think the Bitwriter is just now programming the Viper alarm correctly although is says Completed Sucessfully.

Re: Viper 791XV Wiring Guide

I am wanting some help please.
I installed my Viper alarm and everything went smoothly.
I am now testing the system, if I close the doors and arm the system, the alarm becomes active and the doors lock....great.
If I click the unlock button, it only disarms the alarm, it does not unlock the doors. I know its wired correctly because if the drivers door is open and I press the unlock button it unlocks both sides and disarms the system...
It will not unlock the doors after I am out and the system arms. Only if I am inside the car testing the system with the door remaining open.
Anyone have any ideas???

possibly crossed the door trigger or dome light wires with something.

if the starter is grinding adjust the starter with shims. what else could grind? that's not the alarms fault. now if you mean it just turns the motor and doesn't start, maybe you didn't disarm vats which has a fuel injector kill on tpi cars. maybe you have a fuel pump disable too.

well I figured out that the doors will unlock, just not after the shock sensor has been tripped. So I know the door trigger wires are fine, what would the dome light wires have to do with this problem?

door trigger and dome usually share the door pin switch wire. unless you run dome to the light switch or somewhere else along the line, but same wire still. glad you got it fixed
