cfi to carb swap

ok i have switched out an crossfire injection ona 83 z28 with a 305 to a carb set up. ive already disconnected the brain from the car and was hopeing to take out the wireing harness with it. but there are more wires running up into the dash. can all of these be disconnected? and how do you get the fuel sending unit to still work after you have taken the electric pump out and made it a sump tank with a mechanical pump since the computer controlled it. here is a pic of what i have under the dash.. any ideas???

thanks
steven

The fuel sending unit is not associated with the ECM in any way. It sends its signal to the gage in the form of OHM's resistance. The resistance value will vary in regards to the quanity of fuel in the tank. An empty tank will register "0" OHM's and a full tank will register "90" OHM's.
