First off, I did do a search, but I couldn't find anything that described my situation....... My headlight motors don't do anything. They don't raise themselves or lower themselves. It is rather frustrating. I read alot of the threads on here, and most seem to point to the headlight switch or the headlight motor relay. Well, I recently replaced my headlight switch with a junkyard replacement. But the headlight motors still don't work. However I do hear the relay clicking when I turn the lights on and off. So I decided to test the motors by hooking them straight to the battery. They raise and lower fine. So what should I replace next? The relay? I am at a loss. I would greatly appreciate any help in this matter. It feels as if I am beating a dead horse, and I guess I am in a way......Sorry for that. Thanks for your help!

The relays switch the power from the battery on and off to the motors. Basically you blew a fuse/fusible link. Get a schematic, find the color wire, and trace it. Or someone will chime in where the link is.

In the wiring diagram in my Hayne's manual shows that there are fuses in an "underhood electrical center." But I see no fuses anywhere. Is the manual wrong, or am I just retarded and can't find it? I have the V6, if it helps.......

The fuses are probably fusible links, they are just short pieces of wire that are designed to burn up if the current rating is exceeded.

Find out what pin of the relay supplies power to the fan and check for voltage. If there is none then follow it back to the battery until it does have voltage.

Do you know where the relay is? Do you have an electrical meter?

I do know where the relay is, and I can get a electric multimeter.

First, I don't have a firebird so I'm doing a little guessing but all relays work the same and they are very easy to test.

You should have 4 or 5 wires coming from your relay. 2 of them you be larger guage wires (thicker). These are the supply for the motor. One of the other 2 or 3 wires should be black, if not try to figure out which one goes to ground. If you can't figure out which is ground, don't worry we can test for that.

Let me know how many wires are coming out of the relay and what color they are and I'll tell you which ones to test. You'll need a paper clip as well.
