Car: 1983 Camaro Z/28 Engine: LU5 305 CFI Transmission: 700R4 Axle/Gears: J65/G80/G92-3.23 | Armac is right in the operation is the same even though the T/A's and Z28's air door/air cleaner assemblies look nothing alike.There's a solenoid on the air door assembly to open the air doors.That solenoid is activated by a relay mounted next to the fuel pump relay on the firewall.The ECM controls the relay using the input signal from the TPS.One thing the motor has to be at normal operating tempature and the ECM in "closed loop" for all this to happen.
