Firebird Headlight Door Motor Issue?

In all the Third-Gens I've had I have never had a headlight motor go bad. As shocking as that it, it is true. On my new '92 TA the drivers side seems to be going out. When I turn the parking light switch on, the headlight doors come up but the headlights don't light. They do light as sson as I turn put the switch in "head" position. When the doors come down the drivers motor keeps running for a few seconds even though the door is down.

If I unplug the Door Control Module and reset it's memory then the next time I hit the "park" position the everything works fine. But as soon as I run the headlights up and down again, it starts to act up.

Has anyone had anything like this happen? Is it the motor going out and throwing the module into some default mode or is it actually the module?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

the reason it keeps spinning after it's down is most likely becasue the bushings are going bad. the one headlight poping up with the parking lights...that happened on my 91 bird ...never got too worried about it though becasue it only happened maybe once every 10th or 15th time I turned the lights on....so I never dug around to find the problem...If I were to have fixed it, I would've started by replacing the switch...could get it cheap from a junkyard. I try to start with the simple solutions first so I don't end up spending unneeded amounts of money. you can buy replacment bushing at Hawks or Top Down Solutions. TDS is cheaper and it's the same kit.
