ok when i hit my brkes my drivers side blinker comes on it dosnt blink it just a a solid light till you let off the brake anyone know how to fix this so it dosnt lite up when i hit the brakes
It would definitely help if you told us what car/year/model you have. The wiring is often different. You can actually fill out your profile and all the car info will then show up under your avatar.
The cause could be as simple as a bad ground or as bad as a malfunctioning turn signal switch.

Does the other side work properly? If so, you probably have a bad bulb on the side thats not flashing. (Make sure that you check the front, and sometimes the side-front as well) If it's not the bulb, it will be a bad socket, bad ground, or bad wire to the bulb on that side that is not working.
Sounds like a ground issue. How is the charge in the battery? I've had some weird light issues on vehicles that have been stored and had low batteries.
I have two thoughs:
1) if the left brake light is dimmer (with the turn signal on - would be more noticeable at night), I would suspect a bad ground behind the driver side tail light
2) if not dimmer, I would suspect the multifunction switch (turn signal switch in the steering column, under the steering wheel)
I sure hope this helps!

sorry for the long over due post i still havnt got this fixed im thinking its somewhere under the brake pedle it self cause i just bearly tuch it and the left signel will light up and when i use the turn signle it will plash hit the brakes it will stop flashing go solid and then when i let off the brake it will start flashing agean
My son's STS did a similiar trick. The bulb socket was bad. Specificaly the ground wire tab had rusted apart. We cut open the plastic a soldered the wire back in. Not worth the effort with the more readily availble (cheaper than Cadilac) third gen replacement sockets.

Hmmm ... I'm having a similar problem. Except mine is that the third brake light flashes with the left signal. My left signal won't work when the brake is on.
