New Member needs help.

Hi everyone..I am new to this site but not new to the car world or F-Bodies. I have a little problem and was wondering if anyone had a solution. I am in need of an EGR Vacuum Solenoid for my 1990 GTA. I have looked all over the internet, ebay, local stealerships and parts houses with no luck. DOes anyone know of a brand or part number for one of these that will work that is readily available? Or if any members have one that they would be willing to sell, I would be grateful. Thanks

Re: New Member needs help.

What's your location? (filling out your profile helps us help you )
I bought mine recently, at AutoZone. No problems finding it.

For a TPI system, the EGR Vacuum Solenoid could be matched to Wells EVS29.

TBI engines would use Wells EVS30.

When I go to the Advanced Autoparts page (PartsAmerica.com), I can find them too, no problem.

Hope this helps.
Lou

Re: New Member needs help.

Thanks for the replies guys. Unfortunately, most internet sites dont keep up with the maintenance on their sites. Those sites all told me that the part was no longer available. I was looking at the solenoid for the 1987 Monte Carlo SS and although it looked different and the bracket is different, the connector is the same and it only has 2 ports. I mean I would have to mount it differently and run new vacuum lines but it would plug right in. I mean its only a switch that is commanded to open and close by the computer. Does anyone know of any down sides to trying a different solenoid or better yet, has anyone tried this? just throwing it out there.
