90' Firebird Infl Rest light/ issues?

Hey there folks. I just purchased a 90' Firebird a few months ago, and am somewhat new to working on one. The inflatable restraint system light has been on. I sanded down the contacts on the module itself that is in front of the radiator, sprayed WD40 on all the grounds, and now have the light blinking seven times instead of five, but still no go with the car starting, and the light is still on. I have sprung a leak in the radiator which I will be replacing over the next couple of days hopefully, but am curious of what else I can do to diagnose whether or not the module itself is in need of replacing, and where to buy one new if so. I'm heading out to the pull it yourself scrapyard tomorrow to see if I can pull one off of a car, and get other parts for our other cars.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: 90' Firebird Infl Rest light/ issues?

There has been a couple of posting on this issue before and the guys said that you can check the fault codes. It's usually something to do with a low voltage on or in the module, as the airbag needs something like 50v to fire!

My light does it too and I have 91 Firebird. I'd guess replacing the module would fix it? Are they cheap from a scrapyard because here in the UK they're gonna be expensive? :-(
