I think everyone has a different opinion on whats the best battery to buy. I prefer the optima redtop. Got one in both of my cars. My iroc redtop is fairly new but my taurus sho has had one for 5 years now with a 1000w amp also hooked to it and theres now sign of the battery dying anytime soon.

I run an Optima in the trunk of my old Camaro, will run 6 or 8 years usually. For my daily drivers the Diehard is hard to beat. Last over six years but I don't usually leave them in that long, take it out and trade someone for a dying battery to trade in.
x3 for the Optima Redtop. I'm running a 1000w amp and 2 12" Kicker subs and its worked great... my alternator died and I was able to drive the car for about 4 days before I noticed something wasn't right...
Mods so far: MSD Cap and rotor, MSD ignition coil, Accel 8.8mm ignition wires, Hooker Super Comp Shortie Headers, Flowmaster 3in catback, underdrive crank pulley, custom cold air intake, NOS wet 125 shot, air foil and a lead foot! no E/T's yet. ...TURBO COMING SOON...Other mods include keyless entry and remote start, and Sequential Turn Signals.
I had an Optima red that lasted over 10 years. Might have been 11 or 12.
That's here in the desert in my duallie that sits for months at a time and then goes on 1000 mile road trips hauling 15000 pounds or more of top fuel fun. (or delivering collector cars to the port in LA)
Any wet batteries out here are good for 2 or 3 years tops
