Well, if you have to ask maybe it isn't your thing. On the other hand, I think it would be simple and something you could do:
1) Get LEDs
2) Determine the right resistor to pair them with for 14.8V (THIS IS MANDATORY)
3) Solder them together, put it in a clear pipe if you don't want to just stick them under there bare (also probably not an issue if you use shrink wrap)
4) Wire them to a door switch
If you want them to blink, that's a bit harder but doable. If you want them to do something complicated like do one thing when only your door is open, and something else when the passenger door is open, that's a bit harder.

Thanks for the Info. Pretty much what I want to do is when each door is open I only want that door sill to light up. If the other door is closed the lights stay off. Thanks for your help. I guess its time to dive into electronics.
Digikey takes 24 hours to process you as a customer the first time but is good after that.
Most of those places have high shipping charges to cover their lower part costs so be sure to do one order not several.
Radioshack is generally VERY expensive for electronic parts.
Thanks, Does anyone know a good place to get the tube? has anyone done something like this before and can show a walk through or a how to or something. I tried searching but can't find something similar.
you can also get l.e.d tape check ebay for it.... Have seen it a t wal mart and other auto parts place's too.....all you have to do is supply power to it and ur done its flexible and quite thin.

LED tape what do you mean? Can I have a pic for reference so I know what to look for?
I am pretty sure it IS bright enough...the problem is that its not even... I currently have 2 of those strips (about 12 in each one) as my dome lights, they run parallel to the t-bar on my TA. Just 1 of those is brighter than the stock dome light... I'm not sure if it would work in your application, it really depends how big "Z28" is going to be, there is about an inch between each LED in those strips...

I was thinking bright enough to show up at night from under the door sill. If you only want to have it appear at night, or want it to appear red but not provide light, I suppose that would be plenty bright.
