so, i just finished getting this thing all buttoned up, test drove the car a couple times, pulled it back in the driveway, and the ign switch binds up. so, i replace the ign switch, and now i have NO spark.
i've metered the power to the distro, and i've got the 12v needed. i've also replaced the coil with a new one, just to test it out. there is something inside the distro thats not working.
the thing is, is that is a brand new pro-comp billet distro with a 65k volt coil.
this is killing me. if there is anyone that knows a lot about an ign system, and is in the north texas area, i will make it worth your while to come help me with it. ie. gas money, food, beer, cash. whatever i have to do to get this thing driving right.
if you wanna help, PM me and ill give you my number and stuff.
MONEY......BEER....If I lived close by, I'de be your way. Sorry man. I live in sothern Cali. I hope you get your ride workin man. Have you tried a timing light? Call GM or some classic mechanic shop. They can probably help you. Run a diagnostic check using the little box under your steering column. You'll have to search the web on how to stich a paper clip in the slots and also to write down the blinking engine light codes. If there is a problem with a sensor, the ECM will probably tell you.
thanks man. only problem is, is that my car isnt computer controlled anymore. the only thing its used for now is the lock up on the transmission. im goin straight old school now. haha
Have you checked the voltage while turning the engine over ? If you don't have voltage you may want to check your igniton switch since your cylinder was hard to turn it may have moved .
