No power steering connector on harness???

I was wondering why my 89 Camaro 350 TPI harness had no power steering wire connector on it. I opened up the harness in 2 different spots and there is no sign that the wire that connects to the power steering was there. Is this wire located somewhere else on these cars. Please help because driving with no power steering really sucks. Thanks.

Re: No power steering connector on harness???

I also wanted to know if there is a way that I can hook this wire up myself. Can I just connect it to a hot in run only wire on the vehicle or does it have a specific location?

TPI engines don't use the power steering pressure switch, if that's what you are asking about.
What do you mean by "driving with no power steering really sucks"? Power steering does not require any electricity, only a running pump.

Wait a minute...power steering pressure switch? What is this and what is it for? I have 83 Z that is HARD to steer at low to no speed. Plenty of fluid, belt on and tight, was thinking pump bad or steering box bad. It does not squeal when steering wheel turned. I did not know of an electrical component.

Re: No power steering connector on harness???

The switch has nothing to do with the actual function of the power steering, to the best of my knowledge it just throws a CEL if the fluid or pressure is low.

Re: No power steering connector on harness???

The connector is there on the V6 or Iron Dukes... it adjusted the idle when not moving and steering...

Re: No power steering connector on harness???

Correct, WhiteBlaze.
Also, they put it on the VIN E engines (TBI) since they are considered weak at idle. As pointed out, the switch allows the ECM to add fuel to prevent engine stalling at idle when an idiot driver holds the steering wheel in lock.
