Re: INFL REST Light

There are 3 sensors if I recall correctly. One is an arming sensor and the other two are deployment (my terms) sensors. For the bag to go off, the arming sensor and, at least, one deployment sensor need to be triggered. There is also the DERM energy reserve (like a battery, sorta) that holds the power to deploy the bag. When you turn the key on, these sensors are tested. If any test fails, the light stays on.

If any of the components are missing, it wont work. If you don't really care, you could unhook the light I suppose. What state?

Re: INFL REST Light

Make sure the SIR fuse is good (10A). The arming sensor is inside the console. The passenger compartment discriminator sensor (GM terms) is in front of the console. If you turn the key on, and ground terminal K of the ALDL, the INFL REST light will blink out some codes hopefully. It's like getting the codes from the SES light, it's the SIR airbag system.
