Re: high beam = shut off?

that sounds like a ground problem. The low beams ground through the high beams with lower resistance. yes you can connect the ground straight to the battery if you want. you can also hook the powers straight to the battery for test porpuses.

Re: high beam = shut off?

Blown fuse......High side element coulda gotten broken by the impact shake.....Lots of possibilities.

Check the fuse first.....If its good, jumper power directly to the bulb directly. Are the bulbs even good still?

Need to verify some things are good or not, before digging in too far & searching.

Re: high beam = shut off?

its not the ground i moved ground around and even put it straight to the battery.

i looked at the fuse thats in the wire harness they gave me which is in line with the power. its not blown.

the lights are are on high beam when they are on and when i shut them off the go to low for couple of seconds then turn off so i assume that means the bulb still works.

Re: high beam = shut off?

By ballast, I assume you mean you have HIDs? Stock lights have no ballast.

Just looked....I musta missed the part about the HIDs. Problem is, its kinda hard to diagnoses a custom kit, especially when we don't know WHAT kit you have, or the wiring for it.

I don't know HIDs, so I'm useless for advice now.
