2.8L to 5.0L Swap. Wiring Help!

I had a 91 firebird with a 305 and a camaro body that had a 2.8L in it. I swapped the motor and engine wiring harness and ecm from the firebird into the camaro body. This is the trouble. The car will Crank, but the injectors will not fire. There is fuel getting to them, just no pulse. There is power at the injectors on the hot side with the key on. I put the v6 ecm in it to see what would work, the injectors fired but the car wouldnt run. Im not sure if with the 5.0L ecm the passkey is an issue, if there is a way to bypass this or some other issue. Please help me out here. I wanna get this thing running. I will respond back to the thread when I can get back to the computer. Thanks in advance for any help.

the VATS is disableing the injectors (passkey) you need to insert a resister into wiring for the passkey. it needs to be the same resistance value of the pellet in your key

Ok, Thats what I was thinking. So I need to measure the resistance of the pellet off of the firebird key, thats the one I got the ECM from. I have Looked and Looked to see what wires to insert a resister between, do you or anyone know where I can see pictures of which wires to look for and how to put the resister inline with the wiring to work properly. I am by no means good with the electrical system. Thanks again for you input.

the wiring for vats is part of the interior harness if you dont have the interior harness from the bird then you need to have the vats program removed from you prom i believe

I am not entirely sure on that, I am new to prom burning, but while playing around with some proms i noticed you can turn VATS on or off, your EASIEST thing would be to get a ECM and PROM from a older car without vats.

You can either buy or build a VATS bypass module. I'm running into the same issue with my harness swap, but I also have access to an older PROM that didn't have the VATS code. However, the MEMCAL is incorrect and I don't have proper ignition timing. Just another thing to watch out for.

Finding a non-VATS MEMCAL could be a difficult thing for you, as most non-VATS F-body MEMCALs were TBI.

Well the car I have is a TBI. So where would I start to look for one of the memcal no-vats ecms?

Right now I am about to put in the bypass module in the car and see if that will help my situation. I will post an update.

I have a non VATS ECM and Memcal for a 1988 Camaro with 305 TBI and and auto transmission. and not true if he had the interior harness and modules from the bird, he could in face bypass VATS

Ok well this is where I stand. I used a 30hrz generator and the car fired right up. What hick-ups would or should I be expecting? The tach I know is off for sure, what would that be? and I think the camaro had a mechanical vss and the firebirds trans had an electrical? is that right? Im not sure..
