Alright guys i need some help . Battery charging problem

Ok i just put my 383 into my car . The alternator is not charging the battery , but when the car is running the ammeter runs up to around 14.4 like it should. I dont know what i did wrong any help is greatly appreciated
.

Have you checked all the connections from the amp to the battery?
